Red is this season's hot colour for home interiors
Red is wonderful colour for the autumn / winter season it makes everything seem cosy - It's the ultimate comfort colour. Right now it's appearing everywhere from the fashion catwalks to interior design: fabrics, paint and furniture. The shades of red for this season are not the rich heavier tones but a slightly lighter take on red.
American fashion designer Dianne von Fustenburg is launching her first collection of furnishing fabrics this season and red is a feature colour. Similarly, Liberty Art Fabrics - has recently launched their Heritage collectionn and Nestfield fabric and paint collections - both feature rich reds.
ColourandPaint.com's interiors team has created three colour schemes featuring Liberty reds along with accent colours - their blog post: Red colour schemes on trend for 2015 is well worth a read. Another luxury brand getting involved with the red interior trend is Mr & Mrs Smith - At Home who also have a paint collection. Here is a red based colour palette based on their palette:
With natural and earth pigmented hues, featuring earthy reds, deep greys and brown tinged greens. Here the drama of Bloomsbury Townhouse is lifted by a rich accent from Hanoi Lacquer, and both are relaxed by the neutral team of St Rémy, Icelandic Pumice and Kyoto Snow. This palette is perfect for cosy sitting rooms, dining rooms and studies.
